In my line of work, I am constantly talking to my clients and others about investing in real estate, but lets face it, without our health, investing in anything else is pointless. On my last visit, I got the Infrared sauna therapy treatment and I have to say it was not quite what I expected, but was well worth it due to all the benefits I received.
So what exactly is infrared sauna therapy? This treatment produces infrared waves that penetrates the skin, muscle, and fatty tissue to release toxins stored deep within the cells. Infrared therapy supports detoxification, relaxation, weight loss, pain relief, skin purification, cell health and anti-aging benefits (I especially need all of the anti-aging benefits I can get😂)
Although results vary with each person, Infrared sauna therapy is an effective anti-aging treatment because of its ability to purify and rejuvenate the skin. It is effective in stimulating the production of collagen and elastin to help tone and texture the skin.
Infrared heat is safe, does not contain harmful UV rays and will not cause the body to burn, even after hours of exposure. Now you may think that you can just go to the sauna at your gym and get all these benefits, but unlike a traditional sauna which uses warm air, an infrared sauna uses light and heat to help the body detoxify and relax. Traditional Sauna also get very hot (180-200degrees ) so many people are not able to stay in them long enough to get all the detox benefits.
My session was 30 mins and it took about 5 minutes for me to really get comfortable and relax into the treatment. While in the sauna, you want to have as much of your skin exposed as possible, so I wore a 2 piece bathing suite and had a very light shawl as a cover up, and water to keep me hydrated.
Nik started me out at 110 degrees and gradually took me up to 120 degrees. After about 5 minutes, I started to feel the full effects! First it took a couple of minutes to get used to breathing the hot air, but it was not uncomfortable and after awhile I didn’t even notice it. Next, just my torso and arms were the only places sweating, but by the time I was done, even my finger tips were sweating!
Overall this was a great experience and one that I plan on continuing as it is recommended that we detox 1 to 2 times per week to get rid of toxins in the body.
